The speculation is that during training for a new examiner, they simply grabbed a random application off the top of the pile and went through it and approved it. Man I wish my application was sitting on top of that pile on that day.

Hopefully the fact that they're hiring some additional examiners, plus the gradual tapering off of post-election panic buying will bring an end to the logjam that we've seen the past few months.
