In that Field that is Green
    Wife goes to Doctor.
    Doctor prescribes medication
    Wife gets medication form pharmacy
Wife gets home and reads the patient literature
Wife discovers that the medication should not be taken if she has had a certain condition (she had)
Wife calls Doctor to find out if she is to take medication or not
Doctor tells her not to take it and go back to her original medication

Her previous condition is well documented in her medical records
    The medication cannot be returned

And you wonder why medical care is so expensive

Guess the Good News Ministries clinic is going to get some free medication

There are a number of common sense fixes that could be instituted to reduce the cost of health care. Here are three easy ones:

    1. Each drug has a:
    a. One Chemical name
    b. Numerous Trade names, and
    c. Numerous Brand names.

Regardless of the drug, and with few exceptions, only one name will be associated with a drug when it departs the pharmacy. This will avoid confusion in it's dispensation and administration, resulting in fewer errors, and fewer lawsuits associated with the same.

    2. Avoid duplication of medical efforts to reduce costs associated with treatment, by requiring insurance companies to accept a physician's diagnosis after a minimal internal review, instead of following a path to repeat tests, exams, and treatments that have already proven non effective.

    3. Institute tort reform by limiting awards to: Qualified findings; capping attorney contingency percentages; awarding defendants for frivolous filings; etc.

see, i thought that was the job of the pharmicist to see if you can take it or not.

    Yes, and no.

A pharmacists has information of one's stated drug history, and possibly allergies. He does not have a complete medical record of one's history.

Glad to see your wife actually took her own health into her consideration before popping a pill. Understand that medical professions are people and make mistakes also. Especially when they are crammed with patients to see everyday and most of them are ignorant and don't care about living health to begin with. If the greater masses spent as much time actually taking care of their bodies instead of destroying them... healthcare would cripple the economy with putting folks out of work (RNs, MDs, Phrms, EMTs, ect.). I love job security!!!

:+1:for job security, as 20% of the American economy is dependent upon healthcare.

That is, until Obamacare takes it over. Job security will then sadly entail becoming a Funeral Director.
