Not entirely sure. I've tried not to handle it too much. But I also don't know what to look for. I don't believe I've seen a US stamp on it though. Those pictures were sent to me by my dad this past summer. I may take a closer look and see what I can find. I know I've found the serial numbers. Guessing we could find out exactly what it is from that? Or at least manufacturing date?

Also the holster shown in the photo was made from a Japanese Briefcase. Guessing by my grandpa.

Usually marked "US Property" under the barrel and "US ARMY Mod 1917" on butt by the lanyard loop. I have one in original blue and one rearsenaled and parkerized in WWII. The 45ACP uses half moon clips while the New Service in 45 Colt loads like any other revolver.

I do have a few half-moon clips. I do know that. And about 5 un-opened boxes of government issued 45 ammo

I've got a black powder double barrel shotgun that I believe is pre 1900, a Mosin Nagant from 1924 I think, and a Ross Rifle Cadet that's from somewhere around 1912 best as I can tell. That puts my oldest at ~84 years before I was born.

My oldest pistol used to be a 1915 P08 German Luger. I lost it to Heine Mauser in a poker game while we were in Las Vegas at the 2010 Shot Show. He's the great grandson of the Man whose name is on the pistol. Or so I was told. Cool Beans, ain't it.

    Me- 1996

    Oldest- 1896 or so

So a hundred years difference. Amazing how long rifles will last when taken care of. I bet you somewhere in the world somebody is firing an arquebus.

I was born in 1982, so it's 46 years older than me.

    I am vintage 1970.
My oldest is an unidentified Rigby shotgun, dating from approximately 1860-1890. Next oldest is a Savage 99 from 1920-something (I think). I suspect that a few others are older than I am as well.
