    a) Both have a MOA grid type reticle which would be useful when shooting multiple know distances without having to dial elevation and windage on the fly. b) The Vortex is a first focal plane, while the Night Force is a second focal plane and needs to be at 14 power for the grid to be truly MOA.
    c) The Night Force has capped turrets while the Vortex has a turret on the elevation, and cap on the windage.

Rifle will be multi-purpose doing some small rifle competitions (think run and gun) and a small amount of paper punching. Most shots will be taken in the 100 to 600 yard range.

The Viper HSLR 4-16 FFP would me more of a direct comparison to the SVT. That said I have no experience with the SVT, so I got nothing. I know on specs alone the HSLR the winner, but specs do not tell the full story, and the HSLR is cheaper. Its pretty tough to compare a FFP, and SFP scope.
