Stats like this give me a little bit of hope; the more NICS checks, the more firearms sold, (in general; I know there is no direct correlation.) The more firearms sold, the more people in the country who own firearms, (again, in general; not all of those are to new gun owners.) And the more people in the country who own firearms, the more resistance that will be encountered by any anti-gun legislation.

That being said, it's going to be a hard fight, as we're about to start seeing in New York...

It is going to be an impossible fight. Regardless of the number of gun owners, politicians have proven time and time again that they will pretty much do whatever they want or whatever the big party dogs want them to do and almost never do what their constituents want them to do.

    "Representative" is a MAJOR misnomer.

Just added the numbers up from November of 2008 after the Obama election, comes out to 42% of all the checks have been after we knew he was going to be President. What a salesman.
