I picked up an Allen Engineering AEM5 for my AR/MK12 Mod 1 clone. It's my first suppressor, won't be my last. I was able to take it out to the range this morning and was amazed at the difference in shooting unsuppressed vs suppressed. I'm not sure what it sounded like beside me, but it was really quite behind the rifle. Then again, it might have been me giggling like a school girl blocking the noise. LOL

When you suppress an AR, some of the noise you get as the shooter is from the buffer spring. If you get a captured buffer like this: https://www.jprifles.com/1.4.7.2_os.php
It will be even quieter to you.

It won't make much if any difference to people off to the side though.
