    LIVE, DAMN YOU! LIIIIVVVVEEEE!!!

ok, enough of that. I almost pinged you the other day to see if you'd fallen off the planet. This thread needed a reboot. It started as a great exercise and turned into an awesome prep story.

Dr. Simpson comes to the waiting room with a nurse. He says that the nurse is there to take Trisha back to be with Thomas. He nods to the nurse and she takes Trisha back through the heavy automatically controlled door. The security office glass was 3 inches thick and they controlled the door.

The nurse swiped her ID and the security guard, now a National Guardsman verified her face and weight, you knew that a there are now very precise scales built into an ordinary looking door mat. So sensitive it can tell if you had three or four cups of coffee or if you took a healthy sit down and if you were carrying anything that you were not supposed to be, sad but loss prevention for a hospital is vital..

As Trisha disappeared the Dr. said, Mr, Jones since you are not family you will have to remain in the waiting area and that you could not discuss anything regarding Thomas’s condition. He apologized and just said “it is policy” and then walked away.

OK, its a start. Keep it coming. Many are in withdrawl. We have been forced to feed our addiction through purchasing 1911's and building AR's............:D

A commotion outside the ER doors erupts with shouting and then what sounded like muffled gun fire. Three shots, from a pistol more than likely, then a rush of military personal come in through the outer doors carrying a woman wrapped in a blanket. Behind them you see a man being detained, hand cuffed as he struggles to get into the ER. You realize you are already standing weapon at the ready when you notice a guardsman crack the man in the back of the head with the butt stock of his M16. You yell out, “Hey now!!” to which none of them respond so you start walking towards the door.

As you clear the outer doors the man is slouched over being held up by two guardsman with about 4 other guardsman standing around laughing. None of them notice you as you simply raise your voice, “ Sergeant !” as the man is being carried off you notice blood running down the back of his neck. You yell now nearly as loud as you can “Sergeant!” As the men hear the tone and command of your call for the Sergeant they stop and turn and look to see who is calling for their Sergeant. They see it is you and stop immediately.

As you walk to them you notice a Corporal and a couple of Privates holding the man and the Sergeant is still walking away in front of the men talking on a radio being carried by another Corporal. “Sergeant, Stop right there” The Sergeant finally stops walking, signs off his radio call and turns around dismissing the radio man as he does.

The Sergeant seemingly disgusted at the fact that he should by rights stop and pay attention to you walks up to the men holding the now moaning man still unable to walk under his own power and says to you, “Sir I have a lot of things to do right now, namely see that this prisoner is taken to a detention area so what can I do for you?” You step to the Sergeant getting very close to him and in a tone and volume he will respect you inform him that his prisoner is bleeding and needs medical attention. As this young punk of a Sergeant shrugs and starts to look around you to see what it is your talking about you snap in front of his face and inform him that he would be wise to respect your authority seeing as he has no idea what level of the chain of command you report to or are at. You go on to explain that under the current level of preparedness that his unit is at he would be prudent to not push too much on the chain of command as that he and his unit can be relieved which would not look good on his permanent record.

As the Sergeant nods and reluctantly lets out a “Yes Sir” you turn to your side allowing him access to the men and the detained man who is slowly coming to his senses. He walks past you towards the men as you remind the Sergeant that he will be held accountable for any injuries resulting from the actions of his men and that it would not look good in your witness report of the situation to have a detainee left untreated for injuries sustained during the altercation. The Sergeant reprimands the Corporal who hit the man and tells them to take him into the ER for treatment.

As you walk back towards the ER the Sergeant motions for his radio man to come back to him from the waiting HUMVEE, as you stop to whisper in the Sergeants ear, the radio man stops to allow the conversation to finish before walking up to the Sergeant as you walk off.

While sitting with Thomas you hear a commotion going on in another ER room. A lady is moaning and crying and highly agitated. You hear her exclaim “it hurts, get it out, it hurts real bad” and as you reach to pull the sliding glass door to the room you and Thomas are in shut you hear a nurse screech and run out of the exam room towards the front.

As the noise across the hall quiets from the door being shut you turn your focus to Thomas who is resting quietly. He is still laying on his side, curled up clutching his stomach. You think to yourself, what could be wrong with Thomas, what is the lady across the hall talking about, you wonder how the girls are, where is Trey.. You push the call button and within seconds a female nurse’s voice comes across the speaker in the wall, “May I help you Mrs. Jones?” to which you ask, “I would like to see my husband, can he come back here?” the nurse replies, “hold on a second” and comes back a few seconds later stating that since he is not the boys father he isn’t supposed to be allowed back there but that she will see if a Guardsman can escort him back for a second. You reply with a soft hearted “Thank you.”

A couple minutes later the nurse’s voice comes back over the speaker, “Mrs Jones your husband is not in the waiting area, if he comes back I will see about him coming back when he returns.”

Suddenly a sinking feeling of fear rushes over your body. Where could he have gone? He told you he would not leave you, he would have been right by your side if the Dr. had let him back here, only if you had answered yes to the question of Trey being Thomas’s father. But you didn’t want any issues with history or other problems to pop up so you told them he was his step father..

    Where could Trey be..

After the commotion outside you returned to your seat waiting in the ER waiting area getting very anxious wondering how Thomas was. What was wrong with him? You also begin to wonder about the situation back at home. If you could be assured that Trisha was going to be looked after you could run home to see if things were ok. You know Mr. Grey would have things handled. Surely the girls would be asleep. They are as safe as they can be.

A quiet little nurse walks up to you and asks, Are you Mr. Jones? Trey? To which you stand and answer “YES Ma’am.” She says, quietly, come with me.. You stand, grab your AR, and fold your rain coat over it. She walks up to the doors, swipes her ID, looks at the guard and he buzzes her in through the door.

As you round a corner and walk down a corridor you hear a woman screaming and see a commotion of hospital staff going in and out of a room to your left. A curtain is drawn but the door to the exam room is open and you can hear a woman screaming to “get it out of me” as the little nurse stops across the hall from the commotion and motions you to go into the room. You slide the glass door to your left and sneak behind the curtain to see your beautiful wife and Thomas laying on the bed curled up.

Trisha jumps up and rushes over to you, giving you a big hug pulling you down to her level you nearly fall over from the her weight around your neck. As you set your coat and AR down against the chair in the corner she whispers in your ear, I thought you had left, they said you weren’t out there.. Honey I was outside dealing with a situation. I am right here now, I won’t leave you.

She pulls back and kisses you and you look into her eyes and ask, what’s wrong with Thomas? She steps back and over to the bed sliding up on the side of the bed and replies, they don’t know yet. We are waiting on some tests and blood work to come back. They have given him pain meds and something to keep him from throwing up so much.

You walk around the bed to the other side and see the Thomas still curled up sleeping and rub his forehead and whisper to him. Trisha asks what did you say? You reply I just told him to hang on, that the doctors will fix him up good as new in no time. Trisha sort of snickers and says quietly, he can’t hear you.. About that time Thomas opens his eyes, reaches out his hand and as you take his hand he looks you in the eye and says I love you and then fades off back to sleep. You about fall over from the emotion.
