I bought a 44mag marlin 1894 to use for deer hunting after they okay-ed it for Indiana, i took it out a few times, and went back to my 12ga. for me it didn't seem like it had the knock down that my 12ga did, and i dint want to spend a lot of time tracking a wounded deer through the woods. i shoot the Winchester platinum tip, the do an impressive job.
