Good site. I'm trying to learn and I've gotten lots of good info here so far. First time handgun owner at age 50. Joined NRA. Getting some training this weekend. Submitted paperwork for my Indiana carry permit yesterday.

Wow. That's normally my response when someone says "new gun owner here".

A big +1 on the training. Never stop learning.

    And Welcome!

And what did you pick as your first handgun? (its OK if its not a Glock, as sometimes it takes people a couple of handguns before they come around. . .:D)

Well, I have several long time gun owning friends who are Glock nuts, but they all talked me into a revolver for the first one. Got a S&W Model 60 in .357 mag with 3" barrel. I like the feel of it although the trigger feels a little "heavy" in the double action. We'll see. I will be shooting for the first time this weekend with both .38 special and .357
I will be shooting the instructor's .22 before I shoot mine so I can ease into the .357 ;)
