I saw the no fun racing allowed sanctioning body found an unapproved GLOVE!

Yes, we've been over it already. The stitching to add the webbing could have damaged the integrity of the glove, making it possibly unsafe during a crash. Also the added webbing was used to gain an aero advantage, no different than altering the spoiler or any other aero part.

Are Iroc and Nascar the only series that have rules?
Mark, rules in and of themselves do not make a spec series to me, it is when the rules reach a critical mass, to a point where they are more important than performing, both in car prep and driving, that a line is crossed.

Rules like measurements, tire size, even engine size, are reasonable metrics to set classes by. When the unapproved bolts crap started it was the beginning of the end. This glove thing is a joke because the fine was not for safety, it is an indication of just how restricted the teams are that a glove can make or break a race for a team. The rules are so tight that a hand out the window makes a difference? They should take the rulebook of the late 80’s and put in the absolutely necessary modern safety rules and let them run.
