Very sorry to hear of your loss. It's so hard to let them go, but you'll see her again.

It's times like these that I am really glad I don't wear makeup or I'd be having to do it all over again. :(

Sorry for your loss buddy. Been there too many times. I know how you feel today.....and will for a while. They tug at our shoe laces when pups......and our heart strings when they are older. I hope when I die I get to see them all again.....best to you and take care.

Condolences, wagyu52. I've been there with two Huskies that both lived into their mid-14s. We have a Husky/Golden Retriever mix who is that age now (and two younger dogs, a Husky and a Husky/German Shepherd mix). You never stop missing them.

Our 14year old black lab, Molly went home yesterday after suffering a broken hip last Wednesday. Her injuries where just too great for her aging body to overcome and we just didn't want her to live like that, wanted her to die with dignity.
Got her home on Saturday from the vet with hope we could get her back to walking, but the prognosis was not good. Wife and I had hope but it was clear Sunday that she had lost all feeling and use of her back legs. Called the vet Monday morning said she would come out and put her down on her way home.
Was my wife's day off and I decided to do the same and we spent a very special day with Molly. She got all her favorite treats and her favorite lunch, part of my ham sandwich. Molly was a farm dog and loved to be outside, especially on the 4 wheeler riding fence and tending to cattle. I rigged the 4wheeler up and mommy and daddy took her for one last ride, we saw all her favorite cows and swimming holes. About 5:15 the vet stopped and Molly went home very peaceful. It was a beautiful October day, we buried her down by the creek under 2-40' cotton woods, biggest tombstones in the county.

    Where's the bacon?
May your tears of sorrow be relieving to you, for they will be plenty. Molly was obviously well loved, and you did more than do her justice, you did her honor.

When I lost my GSD in 2006, I carried her collar in my pocket for about 2 months... it now sits atop her urn. I don't look forward to doing that for my Mastiff. I know without question I'm going to be a basket case. Hopefully, a long time will pass before I am proven right on that.

In the meantime, most of the people in this thread have likely seen the following. For all, whether they have or not... may it bring comfort.
