It’s an 03 GL1800 in absolutely great condition. It’s much more nimble and responsive than the 1500.

Kinda want a dual sport but also kinda want an ADV. Kinda considering a KTM 390 Adv as a compromise.

A little north of 35 mpg, but we were rolling close to 90. I imagine it will be closer to 40 mpg under normal conditions.

On the way out, riding into the South Dakota wind, the 1500 got 24 mpg on one tank.

It'd be great to see some of those folks, notorious for traffic violations, get a ticket now and then. Strangely, NEVER seen that happen.

Got to combine 2 hobbies again today.
Took a 300 mile round trip up 65N to deliver a gun I'd sold, then back home to Wanamaker through the country.
For me, a long journey: 2 hours to arrive, then 3 hours to meander home.
A glorious ride, but fatiguing , then there was my right hand's thumb & 2 fingers constantly going numb holding onto the throttle .
62 mpg with my 400cc Yamaha Majesty maxi-scooter.
Windier than I expected today for such a light bike with a windshield.

Northern Indiana being mostly flat, country roads are great for speed runs(if you know the road) before the corn comes in. Nowhere for deer and cops to surprise you.

If I'm in the sports car, I've had fun running through gears 1-3 in the straight country roads with
no one around.
On the scooter, not so much, haha!
No gears, no torque, only a cruiser.

I think the brakes may have worked as intended but he was angled just enough to the right that when it lost some forward momentum, gravity just pulled it over.

His noggin took a hell of a whack when his right shoulder dug into the pavement !!
