I have 12 guns but only 2 were bought through a dealer with NCIC checks, these figures are misleading

How in the world did Illinois have a higher per capita gun check then us They were 18 and we were 27?:dunno:

Not everyone in IL is some panty-waisted Chicago Metrosexual. Look at a map, Chicago only makes up a fraction of the land mass of IL and half of the population. Lots of regular folks outside of that tinky winky funland.

yep and it's a real shame that those regular folks need a permission slip (FOID) to own a weapon because of socialist pigs in chicago.

one thing that helps with ky is the gun show in louisville. i know it isnt much bigger than the 1500(it is 1650 tables). but it is the lagest gun show east of the missippi, and promoted nationaly. i have been there 2 times and i saw more ppl in one day than i did the entire weekend of the 1500. and also since anyone can open carry it helps to.

yeah anyone who is 18 years old and up can open carry in Kentucky as long as they are not a convicted felon. So there alot of people down there don't get conceiled carry permits but do register there guns.

That may be true. Or, it may not. If it IS true, why does the rest of the state let the socialists in Chicago drag it around by the gonads? If it's not an act of complicity, it is an act of

Chicago politics have been such an embarrassment for so long, that my high school government teacher told JOKES about how they operated to show examples of corruption and oppressiveness.

Chicago: where even the dead can vote. Multiple times.

States with the most guns - The Daily Beast

"But based on background checks performed by the FBI, there were more than 14 million gun-purchasing transactions in 2009—10 percent more than in 2008. Of course, a person buying three guns in a single transaction is vetted by a single background check, so the volume of background checks does not illustrate the total number of guns purchased, or the total number of people who bought a gun. Still, the statistics on background checks provide the most accurate window into the localities where the firearm industry is flourishing.
Those statistics show a country divided. If you want see how a state votes, it seems, just check out its gun ownership: All 10 of the most armed states voted for John McCain in 2008. All 10 of the least armed (including the District of Columbia) voted for Barack Obama.
For our rankings, we considered state data from the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System for the last 18 months. We divided the number of background checks by each state’s population, according to the U.S. Census Bureau's 2009 estimates.
One stipulation: States are not completely consistent in reporting of NICS data. Some states use the system for background checks on purchases on the secondary market and others do not. As well, Kentucky implemented monthly NICS checks on concealed weapons, which has inflated its numbers."

Pretty cool but yeah the rankings are misleading...
