Michigan City Rifle Club hosts several pistol shoots that are open to the public. The most active group is the IDPA (International Defensive Pistol Association) group. The Club also will be starting a PPC (Police Pistol Competition) group that will start shooting in March. You do not need to be a member of the club to attend.

The IDPA shoots are held every Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m., and on the second Sunday of the month at 9:00 a.m... You do not need to be an IDPA member. Bring 50 rounds minimum for the Wednesday night shoots and 100 rounds minimum for the Sunday shoots. The Wednesday shoots are $5 and the Sunday morning shoots are $10. Equipment and rules are available at the IDPA website. (http://www.idpa.com/Documents/IDPARuleBook2005.pdf) New shooters should report to Jeremy V., Chad or Brian. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Jeremy Van Gieson (inglockwetrust@sbcglobal.net) or myself.

The PPC shoots will be held on the first and third Thursdays of the month and lines will begin shooting at 6:30, and cost $5 per course of fire. Pistols or revolvers must be .22 caliber or larger, with a 6” maximum barrel. Sights may be fixed, adjustable, or unmagnified red-dot style. Bring at least four magazines or speedloaders and eye and ear protection. Holsters are not required, but recommended. Crossdraw and shoulder holsters are prohibited. Round count per course of fire will vary up to 150 rounds, but most courses will be 50-60 rounds. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Lynnette Smith (lynn.smith.in@gmail.com) or myself.

The March IDPA match will be replaced with an “IDPA 101” class which will cover the basic requirements of the IDPA sport. The class will be limited to approximately 20 participants, reserve your spot by emailing Jeremy Van Gieson inglockwetrust@sbcglobal.net . The course will cost $10, and will include a short shooting session at the conclusion of the class.
The Michigan City Rifle Club is conveniently located on Highway 20, one half mile east of I-94, Exit 40A, in Michigan City, Indiana. The location will show correctly on the Google map, but many GPS systems will take you to the wrong county.

Here's a little bump for this thread.

MCRC's first PPC match was GREAT last night. We had 13 shooters and everyone had a blast (pun fully intended).

Our IDPA program is also lively with 19 participants this past Wednesday Night!

The future at MCRC looks great with this kind of interest in our programs and events!
