Does anyone have an idea of how they will limit magazine capacity on guns that hold more than what ever number they decide? It seems like it is not high capacity if that is how it was designed. Will the manufacturers just install single stacks or limiters or will the gun designed to hold 12-17 rounds be illegal?

Magazine limiters. Same as what is currently shipped to places like NY and CA. The guns won't be illegal.

Is that just a taller follower and shorter spring?
    If it comes to this,
It woukd be nifty if they made the taller followers with a cavity so a normal length spring can be used. And include an warning that removing any material from the follower will result in a higher than legal capacity, and should never be done.

Not sure on how the limiters are set up. Fortunately, we live in Indiana and aren't subject to them. I'm sure someone has that info online, though.

Problem would be in places like NY, it is or will be soon illegal to FULLY LOAD THE MAGS with or without the limiters. Previously had a 10 round mag limitation. Now have a 7 round limit in 10 round mags.

    Maybe I should've been a 1911 guy all along...

During the '94 ban they put dimples on the sides of the magazines to stop the floor plate from going past those dimples. Then there were cuts on the side of the magazine below the dimple, so if you tried to just cut the dimple out your magazine would split at the bottom and be useless.

Of course, someone with the tools and know-how could weld up the slots and then knock the dimple out, but of course the majority of folks don't/can't.

You know I've been wondering about if these body guards in those states carry limited capacity magazines when they are guarding their principles?

Why, He!! No they will not have to observe these limits--They will have some kind of "Super Security Guard" card/badge, that will allow them to carry anything that they want short of a L.A.W.S. Rocket...Bill.
