I hear ya. The M&p is plenty popular but not as much as Glock. I actually have some Glock 17 mags and I don’t even own a Glock. I call it Mag Currency. Some claim there is an advantage to using firearms with commonly available magazines....and stacking them deep.
Mec-Gar makes the OEM S&W M&P mags, right? I wonder why Mec-Gar doesn’t sell them under the Mec-Gar brand like they do for CZ and so many others.Perhaps S&W is just behind? I don't know, but like you, I had seriously considered buying a second gun just for more mags.
There are non-oem mags available for the M&P. You can find Pro-Mag and ETS mags in stock if you want range mags. I have had good luck with both brands. I have 2 pro-mags for my M&P that work fine and I used ETS mags when I had a Glock with no issues. I have had to clean some kind of grease/preservative from the Pro-Mags I have bought.
I have been fortunate, SR9C ProMags have worked fine in my Ruger PCC, I've got a couple for a CZ P10 F that work.As a general rule, I stay away from Promag products.
I will have to keep that in mind. I don’t really travel to the west side often, but maybe I need to haha. Highsmith in Greenfield hasn’t been able to get them in foe quite some time.If you're ever close to Avon Copperhead has at least a half dozen new in package mags.
I also saw some today at Honey CreekI will have to keep that in mind. I don’t really travel to the west side often, but maybe I need to haha. Highsmith in Greenfield hasn’t been able to get them in foe quite some time.
