Just an update on Uncle Rudy's indoor range in Evansville that MBtech mentioned last August. The range has been open since sometime last year. I have shot there about a half-dozen times or so and it is quite nice. They are open Tues through Sat (closed Sun and Mon). They have 10 indoor 25 yard firearms ranges.

Pistol ammo up to .50 caliber is allowed. Rifles are also allowed but I don't know the caliber restrictions. No steel core projectiles are allowed (steel case ammo is fine) and they check your ammo with a magnet to make sure nobody sneaks any in. No reloads are allowed. If you use one of their rental firearms, you must buy and use their ammo in it. Ammo prices are reasonable, but not rock bottom. You are allowed to collect your own brass as long as it is in or behind your lane and behind the firing line. They discourage scrounging other shooter's brass.

Uncle Rudy's is a bit different in that they do not charge by the half-hour or hour, but charge a "day pass" that is good for all day. Last year the price was $15. This year it went up to $18. That might not be a great deal if you only plan to shoot for half an hour, but I like it since it eliminates all time pressures. They also offer year memberships and instruction from NRA certified instructors. More info is available on their website:

It has probably been mentioned somewhere in this thread, but the indoor range that used to be at "Strictly Shooting" in Evansville has been closed for a couple of years, now.

I didn't read through all 57 pages, and somebody else may have already mentioned it, but the Fayette County Rifle & Pistol Club is located in Robert's Park in Connersville. It's a private club that requires its members to be NRA members, but the facilities are awesome and were written up in an American Rifleman magazine several years ago. I've been a member for over 20 years now. The range is limited to 100 yards for rifles.

I would strongly recommend checking out Hillside shooting sports. They have a state of the art indoor shooting range (12 bays I think), Trap, 5stand, (soon to have skeet) along with a wonderful outdoor range. Their outdoor range allows you to shoot up to 1000 yards; however anything beyond 200 yards requires you to show the range master that you can put holes on paper :-). Along with their awesome facility, they have a great system in place to keep you safe. They have all new comers watch a safety video that is very detailed. They have a flag and buzzer system that makes it very obvious that the range is either hot or cold. I am not affiliated in any way with Hillside but have been going there for a few years now. They have a great staff as well. Here is the address: 7870 N Mayne Rd, Roanoke, IN 46783Phone:(260) 672-3715

    I hope this is helpful!

There is a new gun shop and indoor range. It is called Gunslingers located at 1107 E 24th St, Anderson IN. Phone is (765) 393-2839. It is a nice range but small, the store is not a large quantity but very nice. The people that run it are very good people, they are more than willing to help you without making you feel stupid. My wife and I have been there three times. You can shoot nearly any caliber pistol or rifle. Give them a call.

If anyone is close to Louisville, Open Range in Crestwood KY is the best indoor range I have ever been 2. 25 yard pistol and 100 indoor rifle. The lighting is outstanding and targets can be set to any distance and set to move. Great selection of gear but pricey.

My two favorites in SW Indiana are Dave's in Holland, IN and Right to Bear Arms in Haubstaut, IN. Outdoor and indoor, respectively. Great people and great places. Both have their class 3 too
