Great explanation in the video. This is why I finally got rid of my Kahr PM9. I could make it function properly, but only by holding it in what was more or less a "death grip." I've had zero FTF's or FTE's in any of my large frame handguns--Glock 24 and 34, S&W Model 39, Beretta 92FS, and Springfield Range Officer--regardless of how loosely or tightly I grip them. YMMV.

My wife was having problems with limp wristing her G19 shooting one handed with her week hand. We got her straightened out though. Without a doubt, in classes I see the most malfunctions in the XD series of pistols. This is mostly attributed to the grip safety.
The grip safety is one of several reasons I don't like the XD pistols.

+1. Limp wrist and all, they'll run with 14# springs.

I have a G30 that I cannot make jam, but have a G17C that will stovepipe 10/10 if not properly held.

Yes, but the slide will give that frame a real beating...

Better to run a stiffer spring and a stiffer grip...
