I have a handgun that I want to give to a buddy that lives near Lexington KY and am looking for an FFL to do the NICS check for us. Any recommendations?

Where is "near"? Lots of towns around Lexington that have gun stores. Georgetown has Sling Point Firearms. Your friend may have a store right in his town.
