I bought a Rossi M92 .44 lever rifleabout 2 years ago. It was actually my first gun ever (strange starting caliber, I know). The gun hel 10 rounds in the magazine, and kicked like a donkey. The first time at the range, I fired about 40 rounds. I walked out of there with a black and blue shoulder. It was a good time though. Lever rifles and a bit of a pain to clean and dissasemble, but if you have patience, then it's worth it. The Rossi M92 was about $450 new...not a bad price for a .44 Magnum.

LEVER RIFLES ARE AWESOME.....but I prefer auto loaders :D

I hate to keep posting this (not really) but I can't help it. I love my Ruger 96/22. Would have to find one used though as I'm pretty sure they haven't made them in years.

I have a Rossi in 45LC and a Marlin in 45/70 and love them both. Have had a Uberti in 45LC but just to pretty for me to beat around.

I own 3 Marlins (39a, 1894c, 1894ss). Mine have a few years on them and right now I would wait out the new productions just to see how things go.

The Marlin 39a is the BEST 22 rifle ever made (yeh, I said it). Mine is circa 1959 and still runs like champ. I've taken deer with the 357 and 44. Side eject, factory drill and tap, decent capacity and reasonable accuracy- there's really no good reason to look beyond Marlin for lever guns.:twocents:

I'll also recommend Marlin, although I prefer the older pre- button safety models. I've got a few and I'll always look at another one.

1894SS and a CSS in my safe, but I haven't had a chance to put them too the test, leaning towards the 44 just because it has a little more punch than the 357, but I am still waiting feedback about them on another post.

    Thanks

Thanks for all the info guys. I did end up buying a Marlin 336 30-30 from a fellow INGO member. It shoots really sweet. I will try to post a picture of it soon.

Personally, if you want a classy and showy gun it has to be the Marlin 1894 stainless steel. I have a set, .357 mag and .44 mag. Love them, they look damn cocky is a glass case, and i love killing deer with them. The .357 is perfect of a girl or younger person. The .44 is what i use, love it, have not scoped it and do not think I'm going to. It would kill the look and they shoot so nice that i don't feel the need to. Marlin 1894 stainless steel has my vote!

I bought a Marlin 1894CB in .357 a few months ago. It shoots great and has a higher comb than some of the other manufacturers. It is a ton of fun to shoot and looks great as well.
I have had great experiences with marlins over the years.
