I am curious: Did he also ask for your Drivers License? Did he call in your info to see if it was legit?

I have had it both ways. Sometimes you just have to flash some pink and they're happy.

I already had my wallet in my hand, as well as my 44oz fountain drink; so as I pulled out my LTCH I held my wallet out with my ID pointed at him. He didn't call anything in.

Just to put this out there....
With the law change would you still have to show it? You can carry without the LTCH when not on your land, if its OK with the owner.

Just curious thanks. BTW you do realize you don't always have to show your drivers license right?

If I KNEW I had the OK from the property owner then no pink for them.

Oh I know. I already had my wallet open and figured I'd show him I'm not trying to hide anything. I didn't want to get into the whole, "probable cause" to see my ID or anything because I had a couple beers a few hours prior and would have registered on a breathalizer. I highly doubt I would have been over the limit as it had already been at least 3 hours since I had the last beer and I only had 2.

And before anyone asks, no I wasn't driving. I usually never drive to the gas station because it's only 1 block away.

Yeah if I was in my yard or any private property where I had permission from the owner, I wouldn't have shown him anything. Standing in a very busy gas station is a little different.

All they have to do is take your name and DOB and it comes up LTCH. Happened to me 2/2/12 7:00 AM in lafayette. I said THAT does not seem right! and of course I get the " It's for our safety" Spiel. He was polite, just aberrated.

I would say, technically, no. If the manager told the cop that they gave you permission to carry there you don't need a LTCH. You better have it stored properly for transport when you leave the parking lot, though.
