Any tips on leaving fakebook?

Have real info in it, then hit all the privacy settings and close it.

Follow that by opening a new FB account, use all scrambled information and a random but real sounding name.

If you don't make a new account and stay logged on that, you'll still be tracked endlessly and have it tied to your identity.

You can go in a delete most of your content. Periodically I delete all my posts, likes, etc. I also have it locked down as much as I can and no picture of me.

I don't know if it makes much/any difference but I feel a little better.

I also don't post much and most everyone I'm "friends" with I have unfollowed.

I do follow a couple of shooting groups and recently some squarebody Chevy groups.
Otherwise I'd deactivate it.

If you have people you enjoy interacting with and Facebook is your only point of contact reach out to them for an email or other ability to message. This could be remote family you like (not the ones you blocked), younger folks who only communicate via social media, an online acquaintance. Let all the rest of them disappear.

I have a hard time believing that data is TRULY gone. I'll lay money it still exists behind the scenes and just isnt visible publicly anymore.

And *adjusts tinfoil hat* likely it already exists on some .gov servers and deleting from FB wont touch that scraped data.
