    I saw this also and like the families comment. They had three more years with him than they should have, after his injury. I think that the situation is not as it seems. It is hard to fall out of a coaster. One thing that could be said, he died doing something he liked.

    This coaster does not have an over the shoulder retention bar to keep you seated, it used a lap bar, see image below of the coaster cars. Very easy if you do not have adequate amount of leg length. That's why some coasters have a "you must be this tall" sign.
