Illinois Punts On Gun Bills

Looks like our neighbours to the west went into recess and left all their bills regarding guns in committees, all but insuring their deaths. On the good side is the fact that they sent their anti-gun bills to committee, too. At least that's something the people of the PRI can be thankful for.

On Friday, March 26th, just before breaking for their spring recess, the Illinois legislature seems to have sent every gun bill back to committee, which basically indicates that the bills won't be acted on. Illinois being Illinois, this is mostly good news, because most of these bills are so-called "gun control" bills.
We're talking about such restrictions as "one gun per month;" outlawing private sales; bans of .50 caliber rifles, so-called "assault weapons, and "high capacity" magazines; licensing handgun dealers, etc.
On the other hand, a couple modest gains for gun rights have also met their apparent demise. Thus, a bill that would permit yound adults (between the ages of 18 and 21) to buy guns and ammunition without a note from mother has also been sent to the gulag, despite having handily passed a Senate vote. Likewise, a bill which had passed in a House vote, that would dispense with the waiting period for gun exchanges, is apparently down for the count. A similar fate befell each of the defensive handgun carry bills.

SHOCKER! this will only help un in Indiana when we invade illinois and claim their land as our own. simply put, if it doesn't take things away from the public and give more to the government, it will never happen in illinois. why would someone want to live there?
