Imagine being able to travel back in time, and your main mission is to save JFK's life.

The book was great and I don't know how they can fit it into a 9 hour mini-series. It was done with Lonesome Dove, hopefully JJ can pull it off.

But if you saved JFK's life, you wouldn't need to go back and save his life.
    Therefore he'd be killed.
Then you'd have to go back and save his life.
But then you wouldn't need to go...

Wasn't this already done in the classic Twilight Zone episode "Back There" that featured Russel ("Professor" from Gilligan's Island) Johnson?
Oh wait, that came out in 1961, and it was about trying to go back in time to thwart John Wilkes Booth.

I think a more interesting story would be keeping Lincoln from being president to see if cival war could be averted. Or the Union loosing and how a split country would look.

The idea in 11.22.63 is saving JFK will put a quick end to Vietnam and take power from the military industrial complex. No hippies protesting war, racial equality is fast tracked. A basic USA utopia is the hope by saving JFK.

If it sucks, just hit the reset button, no harm no foul. The rules of time travel are interesting in the book.

Love the time travel paradox issues. Saw what would be considered a "B" movie nowadays (honestly probably was then also) about an accidental time traveler who ended up being his own great grandfather. A little icky and never mind the chicken and egg thing!:runaway:

This story is SO MUCH MORE than just saving the President. If I remember right, the time "warp" only went back to a certain date in 1956. So the other half of the story is adjusting to living in the 50's and stalking Lee Harvey Oswald. SO interesting.

Watch Man in the High Castle on Amazon Prime, alternate to WWII Germans win and split America into the Germanic states east of the Mississippi and the Japanese ruled Pacific states west of the Rockies, with a"neutral" zone in between.

Watched the first episode, pretty good. It had the WTF is going on feeling that JJ did so well in Lost.

If anyone is hesitant to watch this series because of the misnomer that Stephen King is just a horror writer, know he also wrote The Green Mile and the Shawshank Redemption.
