If I were a kid, I would be out ice skating on it.

I slipped Wed night and spent 5 hours in the ER. No broken bones but I can barely walk. Body slammed on my back on the right side between the hip and ribs. Thank god for modern medicine. :n00b:

No falls...but I did some interesting ninja-like moves to keep my balance once. Wasn't worried about *me*...didn't want to fall and hurt the Kimber. :D
I'll bet you looked around to see if anyone was watching, even though you didn't actually hit the deck. Go ahead ...admit it! ;)

Knock on ice, but I haven't been down once. I've done a lot outside and used up about 25 of the 50 pounds of sand I have on the porch steps and sidewalk. I'll probably go down on Saturday, when I'm trying to break all this crap off the driveway.

Had an employee slip a year ago January when we got that 1/8" of ice. That is a $37,000 shoulder so far... Rotator cuff surgery keeps adding up...

Haven't been down yet. Even stood on my deck railing to clear an ice jamb in my gutter. Good boots, and going slow....

My wife has been down twice, and is now banned from going outside.

Picking up a pair at about 2 today.

Make sure you get a large enough pair that the rubber isn't under the show sole. Otherwise they wear out REALLY fast. I got those for the wife, but more robust chains for my shoes, because I've broken Yaks in the past with moderate use.

Bought a set of YakTrax clones earlier in the winter and used them the past few days. When I took my boots off last night, I noticed one of them was missing. Found it out by the mailbox. The only reason I didn't fall on my butt twice, even with the shoe-chains, is that I was able to use my car and my ice-chopper as handholds.

I use Yaktraks for light to Moderate activities. Mainly where I will have to take them on and off often.

For heavy use or a more permanent application where there is little to no need to remove them I use a Pair of Surplus Crampons...
