A simple search function would be your friend here. But I'll bite...

    Pros:
    CHEAP
    Fun
    Compact
Unbeatable warrenty that stays with the gun forever, free repair/replacement cost. Which means you can even melt this gun down in some bizarre torture test and then send the heap of metal and plastic and hi point will replace it...free.
9mm readily avaliable (pre the recent maddness)
Pro. Made in the U.S.A. (Dayton, I think...)

    Cons:
CHEAPLY made platics make it feel toyish
Disassembly is a pain in the butt
limited to 10 or 15 round propriatary magazines.
    Ugly as sin
Hi points have low resale value
Oh yeah and the design of the safety sucks, but thats going to be subjective.

Edit* I am speaking from experience here too, I bought a hi point 9mm carbine when I was 18, oddly I was refused 9mm ammo when I attempted to purchase ammo from multiple gun stores/big box stores because they wouldn't sell me "handgun" ammo.

I used and abused my hi point, rarely cleaned it, and after a few years (maybe 4?) the firing pin broke. I called hi point, gave them my serial number (I never signed up or sent in warrenty card info) and they sent me a replacement firing pin and spring for free. Gun worked fine. I upgraded to the aftermarket stock furniture and it looked and felt WAY better with the aftermarket upgrades. A couple of boxes of ammo later I found myself getting out of 9mm caliber and sold it. Fun while it lasted for sure.

I don't have any experience with their carbines but despite all the flack they catch about being cheap, junky handguns, I think they're great inexpensive plinkers. A few years back me and my dad bought a 9mm and .45 and we've probably put upwards of 1,500 rounds through each and haven't had any issues except a few jams, but even those were few and far between. We shot whatever ammo we could get cheapest and did next to no maintenance on them and they kept coming back for more.

    .
I've had a 995ts for a couple of years and have had no problems with it. It already had the updated stock on it. I taught my Grand Daughter and missus how to shoot a rifle with it. Not sure how ridiculous the prices are on one these days but when I got it the price was only $125 new from a store in Peru.

I have a friend who has one and absolutely loves it. I plan on getting one when everything calms back down.

I have one I got used in a trade and it has become my favorite "fun" gun for target shooting, very accurate with a red dot.

I have one and enjoy it. It is not anything close to a 'Cadillac', but they are fun to shoot, inexpensive, and mine never fails to fire. It also seems to be accurate, as others have said here. My old eyes seem to have no trouble shooting out to 75 yards with it without any problem. I would say get one and have fun!

I've been kicking around the idea of a 4095 for a while now. I helped a guy sight in his 995 at the range one day and kinda liked it. Yes, it's not a BMW, but why not own a rifle chambered in my main carry caliber too. Pretty, not really. Cheap, yep. Accurate, the one I shot was. It's never going to be my go to weapon, but it was fun to shoot. I say why not.

I just bought one... you get what you pay for, but for what this thing cost me... I got a steal!

It is a cheap, no frills rifle.. but it seems very reliable and dead accurate! I don't regret this purchase at all! By the way... once I give it full aftermarket treatment and tune it the best I can, it will probably end up being my "truck gun"

Got a 995 on a trade back in December. I like how easy it was to break down with just the included tool. I broke it down after getting it home and noticed a bent firing pin, called hipoint and they sent one in the mail. I guess the pin is also the ejector of the spent casing. Might need to adjust the magazine to feed properly by bending out the front/back top of magazine.

My dad did an article on the hi-point 9mm carbine when they first debuted. He kept the article gun and still has it. I figure its improved a ton since that first run, but from my experience with it... ugh. Felt stupid cheap, was probably the ugliest gun I'd seen, and cocking the damn thing took way too much effort. The shoddy single stack magazines were terrible too. I looked online, looks like they are still ugly as sin. Hopefully the rest has improved.

The only thing that has kept me from getting one is the limited 10 round magazines. And Hi Point insists they keep the mags limited to 10 rounds for reliability reasons. If they could get it together and fix that I would try one.
