Hey guys. Im currently going through the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. I was very suprised when I asked a group of my fellow students how confident they were in their shooting ability. 1/3 or maybe closer to 1/2 were not confident, and of that group several had never fired their duty gun.

I was appalled that their department would allow them to attend the Law Enforcement Academy without at least letting them get a feel for their duty gun. One girl had only ever shot a gun one other time in her life.

I took some initiative and started asking if some guys would like some instruction in a couple of weeks. The reaction was overwhelming and I find myself in need of a range to shoot at. We cannot use the LEA range because this will be done with no association to the academy for liability and insurance reasons. It will be a bunch of like minded individuals meeting at a range and getting some trigger time, while utilizing some peer instructors.

A big hurdle for us is that we are from all over the state. I need to get a range that is relatively local to the plainfield/ILEA area. This way, we can all meet for a few hours before returning for duty after the weekend.

Any help finding a range willing to allow us to use its facilities would be awesome.

    Thanks guys.

    Mike
