Ok, this was found out in the field about a week ago here in Afghanistan and was confiscated. So you guy tell me what is it?

    1. It just isn't gun porn unless there are socks visible in the pic. +1 there.
    2. Good to see you reading up on your handgun stuff, you are expected to compete when you get back (after some good nights of sleep and all).
    3. It is a complete shame that you take the risk of bringing back metal in the form of shrapnel and they will not allow you to bring back metal in the form of battlefield pickups. Completely stupid and insulting.
    4. Looks like a sten, wonder if it will fire without a mag (fires open bolt if I guess right).
    5. File as many forms on as many guns as you can, hell, maybe one gets through the system...

Didn't get a new version, just loaned it out a thousand times. This is the farthest it has gone though! ;) There will be a ton of matches of all kinds when you get back. Your return date is right at the start of the season.

If it works out, bring the sten! :ar15:

When I was there a few years ago, we couldn't get any type of firearm approved to send back home. Heck, my last OIF tour we couldn't send ANYTHING that had been removed from enemy combatants. They are really putting the clamps down on "war trophy's". Good luck

Thats a shame, my grandfathers brought back some of the coolest stuff from both the Pacific and Europe.

yea, we can send stuff ome now, we can send guns as long as they are past 40 years old i belive now, i have seen guys sending them home. If the mail room people are not sure you can take it to JAG and have them look at it, if they say its ok, they will put it in writting and you take the letter to your mail room and they can send it out. they have even provided us with "Long Gun" USPS boxes that you tape togeather for sending guns home...........R

About 20 years ago I got to fire a "Swedish K" at a sheriff's range (confiscated gun). When I saw the pic, I thought that is what this was, but after doing a wiki search, I know see that it's not. Close but not it.
Cool find, I hope you get to bring it back. When I came home from Desert Storm, they wouldn't even let us bring anything back for ourselves. Our unit brought back a bunch of stuff for the Patton Museaum, but they searched all our personal bags before loading up to fly home. Times have changed!
