I have actually recently tried this. I found that the Gen 3 slide will fit the Gen 4 frame. BUT, after racking the slide a few times I noticed that the guide rod did not stay in the proper cut out recess of the barrel lug. My opinion, probably not a good idea to do. I have yet to see if there is anything that would allow this. I know Lone Wolf makes a conversion to make a Gen 3 17 slide fit on a Gen 4 19 frame.

TLH, "SHurt" tried that when the Gen4 Glock 17 came out. At that time they had not released the Gen4 34, so he put his Gen3 34 slide on a Gen4 17 frame. His slide broke in half within a few hundred rounds. I wouldn't do it.

When (IF) we get our Gen4 21's in later this year, there will be a flooded market full of used G21SF's.

check out the polymer 80 frames. The older version was on sale for $50 last week, not sure what site. Im sure some digging would pull up results.
