I don't know if all of the Gander Mountains gun prices are the same, but WOW they seem high in Terre Haute. The ammo is outrageous and not just because of the madness now. They always seem high.

In FW they are ALL OUT of .22, in spite of it being advertised and on sale, and their semiauto handgun case is about empty. Almost no powder and no primers of any kind. One whole rack that used to be shotguns and milsurp rifles is now targets.

For a very short time Gander had reasonable prices, but then they decided to raise the price of everything until their prices exceeded MSRP. And that was before the latest craziness.

I used to be able to pick up some ammo reasonably at the local Gander just north of Indy, but about two years ago they raised their prices to pure outrageous.

eh, theyve never had crap for reloading supplies up here. tiny little corner in the ammo section.

they've always been high on ammo and guns both, id say 10-20% on my LGS.

Completely agree. They raised their ammo prices anywhere from 15-30%. I use to always purchase my 7mm Rem Mag ammo their because i could get it for 28$. Now it's $35:xmad: and i can't even get any because the hautians have purchased it all!

Was in there Monday evening. No 9mm except for a couple of boxes of makarov (sp?). They were giving out numbers to be helped at the counter with 8-10 peple waiting in line. Saw at Ruger SR22 about $40 more than at the 1500.

They are low on gun inventory too. I never thought their prices were unreasonable. I have purchased 2 guns there and have had good experiences. Ammo is high everywhere now.

They were/still are way over priced. I went in over the summer looking at a Glock 23. Gander wanted 699. I got it from PSS for 529 at the 1500 in Oct.

I drive my wife crazy when I do price comparisons, but it's something I do anytime I make a purchase. Apart from occasional sales, I've thought GM prices were always ridiculous, even before the buying frenzy we're in. Ammo has been overpriced and I've seen handguns marked up at least $100-$150 over a LGS. In fact, when I bought my Beretta I bought the 92A1 model from my LGS considerably cheaper than what GM was selling a regular 92FS for. Granted, Gander will price match, at least with guns, but you shouldn't have to do that. They buy in large enough quantities that they should be able to offer you a reasonable price.

I think they can charge more because they know many consumers aren't that savvy and just buy from them because they're a known chain and it's convenient.

Before the "run" I would watch for sales on ammo. Competive then. But now, like others, it is crazy.

On business trip and went by a Gander in NE Ohio. Like TH, little ammo. Their gun prices seemed a little high but probably comparable to TH. In fact a S&W 22A was same price as what I paid at TH, which was $30 higher than I saw it online, but no FFL fee or S/H.

Gander Mountain is a terrible place to buy a gun. Don't be that foolish. We all benefit when you make intelligent buying decisions.

Please tell me how it hurts you if someone buys from Gander. You seem to hold a sense of collectivism and, dare I say, socialism.

Was in there today and all they had was the "odd" calibers. and 40. Crap loads of 40. lol. There were some HP 9mm luger but they were OMG high. There was two boxes of 45 acp and those were 45.99 I think. Never saw ammo this high before.

I was in our local GM and they wanted $849 for a shotgun with an MSRP of $738 that I bought for $600 elswhere.

However, I did buy several boxes of ammo for that shotgun for $5.99.bx. That was the best price I have found recently.

As a former Hautian, Yes The gander Mtn there is overpriced. It is because of them that I turned to reloading and either grabbing amo when visiting family and friends in other cities, and online ordering. The reloading supplies are at least decent from what I remember.

I believe Gander stocks on Monday night so Tuesday morning you should check it out. At least the one in Castleton.
