    Sorry for the dumb question. What is the point in obtaining the certificate? Doesn't it just show that you have taken the class?

    Yep, they want to be able to point at the wall, and tell people, see what a bad ninja dude I am, look at all those schools that I went to. Look around and see those posers that come around in military uniforms, and even the ones faking certificates. Seems dumb to most people, but to them, its cool and real, even though they know they made it up, or that they didnt understand the course, but somehow got the certificate. Heck, there are people, that is what they think shows someone knowledge, or that they are awesome, like the award seekers in the military. The ones that claim that they are going to get the Medal of Honor and do this and that. Those are the ones that think awards and certificates make the person not the other way around.
