    If the wife gives you any grief, just claim you had a French moment and see if that might help--presenting her with a glass of wine while saying it ought to be very helpful as well.

    Take the bolt out and slide a cleaning rod down the bore with the gun laying on it's side. See if the rod is laying against the side of the bore at the muzzle. Then do that same thing with the rifle rotated a little, and repeat for 360 degrees.

    Update...Finally had a chance to shoot my rifle after waiting for about two months for my backordered rings. After mounting my new scope I took it out and dialed er in. As it turns out no harm was done by the drop. My last group I was able to put three rounds on target less than an inch at 100 yds!
