Kind of surprised this wasn't already posted here... I searched but couldn't find anything. If this is was already covered, please ignore.

The following link is a video of Ray standing in protest until he is physically removed from the hall where the speech was held:

Absolutely unbelievable how this will never hit the main news or ever be seen on a newspaper cover but Charlie Sheen is on every channel!

The difference is that Charlie Sheen is a WARLOCK!

The mainstream news was there. When I searched CNN and FoxNews, I couldn't find anything though.

It got mentioned at least online in mainstream news in the UK. The Daily Mail

Press TV (state run media in Iran) ran the story too. They love these kinds of things. And why shouldn't they. They can point it out to their citizens who know that Iran was over the top heavy handed with protesters and say that the Great Satan will arrest and beat you too.

Iran is still a giant pile of dirty dog poopies, but we should probably at least put a little effort into not looking like hypocrites while we are actively chastising them (especially if there are 16 media outlets in the room with cameras).

To me, it appears he made himself a security risk. I recall going to a luncheon where President Bush attended. We had steak and chicken, but couldn't have knives. We were also provided specific instructions on what movement was permitted. I would imagine if anyone "stood" in that room and "turned their back," they would have been escorted out of the room.

    Wow, good post. Thanks.

I am not surprised that it took place in front of Clinton, she probably has standing orders to treat all dissent in that manner.

Who is the man that committed the assault on the elderly citizen? Why is he not being charged? Well, I guess we know the answer to the latter question.

Maybe. I'd imagine though that the luncheon rules would be a little stiff as compared to a regular speech. In the videos, you can see a handful of people hop up and head outside to watch the action and then head back in to their seats. If standing facing the wrong direction is an UhOh, then I'd imagine that people (if they weren't LEO/Secret Service) popping in and out of their seats (and the door) to see the action would also be considered UhOhs. Surely if someone at that luncheon you attended was forcedly removed, the people getting up out of their seats and following the parade outside would have also been considered additional security threats.

At least one wasn't LEO/Secret Service, because one journalist wrote about the event (what happened, what he saw when he went outside, what he saw when he came back in) for the paper he works for (Winnipeg Free Press). From the tone of the article, it's apparent that the journalist had seen the hypocrisy/irony in the day's happenings.

Speaking of irony, do you think this would have been on Fox if the same thing had happened during a speech by SoS Rice or Powell?

Would the same people be incensed?

I am, and would have been, but I fear I am in a small minority.

It was all over Fox News this morning. They showed the interview with the guy etc.

It was in the news in Tehran (Press TV) 20+ days ago. Supposedly (as per Ray McGovern's own comments in at least one interview) Fox ran a story much closer to the time the incident that stated that McGovern was ejected from the speech for heckling. He was tossed within the first minute of Hillary's speech and there are at least a few videos floating around that show that he is doing nothing but standing there.

It would make sense though that Fox is covering it now. Alex Jones interviewed Ray McGovern almost 20+ days ago which means it's now time for Glen Beck to break the story. : )

In this case, I think Fox just sat on it until they saw enough interest online to run a story that makes Hillary look bad. They could have ran it sooner, but they don't like McGovern. The Veteran's For Peace group isn't a fan of foreign policy over the past few decades. McGovern has also repeatedly voiced his support/approval of WikiLeaks/Assange.

And here is what happened when McGovern challenged McGovern at a speech in 2006. Notice at about 1:30 in the following video where Rumsfield tells security not to remove McGovern even though McGovern is posing hard questions to Rumsfield...
