No, I haven't. That creates a paper trail, almost certainly converted into electronic form, which can be confiscated in ready to use form. Given that there are far fewer manufacturers than there are FFLs it would be a faster and easier filter for early draft picks than collecting 4473s which would then have to be manually entered into a database.

This is a good question. I'm guessing that if/when the gov decided to collect our toys, gun manufactures records would be open to them.

I'm not concerned about the paper trail-- having had a firearm that was subject to a recall-- I am very concerned about safety. So, as a prudent owner-- if you don't register your firearm-- at least check to see if any recalls have been made that affect yours. (the recall was for accidental weapon discharge when dropped or hit hard)

I registerd my SIG 238 and I am actually happy I did.
When you register with SIG, they send you special offers.
    I got 3 7 rd. mags for $99.
Every once in a while, I get other offers.
I thought it was well worth it.
If you are concerned about a paper trail, only thing I can say about that is there are numerous places to get records besides a manufacturer, like your carry permit?

I dont and im not sure why you need to do that.
Many other companies offer you to register their products like knives and stuff like that.
Usually you can have a great warranty service even with unregistered products.

The fewer records the better these days. Most of the better firearm manufacturers will take care of problems with their products without you having to register them.

I have dropped my warranty card in the mail for at least one of mine. Frankly, it just doesn't concern me, especially the one I did warranty. The FFL who sold it to me has gone out of business so the BATFU already has my paperwork on it. Same for any number of other firearms I may have bought, too.
