So was it a Sig, Taurus or an old single action with six full cylinders? Or perhaps did sometime else happen?

    Polish P64?

    That's the only modern-ish gun I know that's not drop-safe.

Me thinks a little coonfingering was involved.

Spent some time searching but didn't see this posted anywhere, surprisingly. Guy dropped his gun at the Mishawaka Red Robin, put a hole in the ceiling, and walked out. Took police a couple days to locate him. No charges filed. Hope he gets himself a good holster, might not be so lucky next time.

Gun goes off inside Mishawaka Red Robin

Well, at least Red Robin will have some better ceiling ventilation now. The hole will let some of the smoke out. :)

    Sig P320? 70 Series Colt, Springfield 1911’s?

I said, "that I knew of". Those guns you mention weren't made behind the Iron Curtain, so I have no interest of those. ;)

There was a ad/nd at my local wendy's a while back, guy was in the bathroom and supposedly was dropping trou when the gun fell out and discharged. His hand was injured, but no one else. He was charged with felony criminal recklessness. Haven't heard the outcome, if there has been one yet.
