Apparantly last night there was debate on the floor of the House over some amendments to a spending bill. The amendments were offered by Republicans and concerned funding for ACORN and an investigation into Nancy Pelosi's problems with the CIA.
As I understand the story, the Democrats announced that there would be no more votes that evening, and Republicans started heading home. When enough Republicans were gone the Democrats headed back to the House floor and called for a vote to end debate on all amendments to the spending bill. Republicans scrambled to get back into the House, but it was too late. Democrats saved Pelosi and ACORN with their little chicanery.
This was on the Neal Boortz website.
Anybody heard anything else on this??

If this turns out to be factual,
this is just another reason to voice our opinions to our leaders in Washington.
It does not matter if your a Democrat or Republican, this type of underhanded manipulation of power must be stopped.
Regardless of the topic, if Congressional Hearings are requested to
investigate either political side, lets have them.
Congressional Hearings would certainly be less damaging than National Health Care,
Stimulus Packages, or any other hair brained ideas that are coming out each day.

I'd say the OP was pretty close to the truth there.

They left at 6:30pm assured that they would only debate on the amendments, but at 8:30pm they called the Republicans back from home, drunk at the bar, shopping, one even rode their bike in the voted ended to kill amendments to the Spending bill 179-124 with 131 people not making it back to the floor from home on time. 90% of those that left were apparently R's so that means that Dem's were split on the issue, but had the Republicans been there the motion would have died instead and ACORN wouldn't be getting any money.

obamatard is a retarded anti-freedom politician, but we never really bash on Congress like we should.

Here is prime example why we should.
