I was wondering if any members have an impression of the firearm from owning one, especially in 308 or 270 Win

I kind of like the idea, but lever action guns can be quite finicky in unexpected ways. Any first hand impressions would be appreciated, whatever the caliber

    Thanks

Cloverleafed w factory ammo at 100.
Pops borrowed it and made his farthest offhand chuck kill....over 350.
Of course he acted like that was the norm for him, witness to the event knew no different LOL

When you make a heck of shot, be cool.
And never let people see you miss.

Can be very accurate. Always very reliable. Didn't see many growing up but the ones I did killed a lot of deer. The BAR also.

They will shoot as well as a bolt gun from browning but there is one little sticking point. The trigger is not as nice. Art's gun shop can solve that issue with a trip to the shop.

And if you want a model 81 and need a second mag be prepared to spend some hard earned cash far exceeding the mags worth.

Thank you all for the information, it sounds like an interesting possibility

And I hear you on the cost of mags for unusual stuff. I have a couple of Taurus PT38SS in 38SA in my collection and mags for those are well over $100 apiece when you can even find them
