Just thought I would share this app with you survivalists. It's called Survival Guide and it consists of the U.S. Military Survival Manual FM 21-76.

Some of the chapters on it include:
    Psychology of Survival
    Survival Planning and Kits
    Basic Survival Medicine
    Shelters
    Water Procurement
    Firecraft
    Food Procurement
    Poisonous Plants
    Dangerous Animals
    Field-Expedient Weapons, Tools, and Equipment
    Desert Survival
    Tropical Survival
    Cold Weather Survival
    Sea Survival
    Expedient Water
    Field Expedient Direction Finding
    Signaling Techniques
    Survival Kits
    Edible and Medicinal Plants
    and others.

    Thought it was pretty useful.

My android has many different apps.. Search the market for all them..

compass - it's close to accurate, uses GPS thought

life360 - uses interenet and GPS and tracks my entire family so in an emergency I know where they are, they can hit a panic button and it will notify all of us where they are and such

USMC Winter and Summer survival guides - downloaded

FM Radio, has to have head phones for antenna

gold / silver price tracker - uses internet

Food Locater - uses GPS and Internet to find closest food

Liquor Run - uses GPS and Internet to find closest liquor store, priorities..

Craigslist app watches craigslist for me

    IPSC shot timer

Google Sky is cool, shows star charts

    Downloaded plenty of free books

Shopsavy uses internet and has a UPC scanner to compare prices

Prepper Plan It is helpful for grocery and other supplies

    plus many more

Key is to make sure it is a download or if it will require the internet or whatever to work.. To test put your phone in airplane mode and try to open the apps and make sure they work.. What good is a survival guide if it isn't downloaded and can't talk to the net..

Didn't know about the shot timer.....Downloaded it.

    Same goes for life360....

Thanks for the list! I'll rep you when I gain more rep tomorrow.

A few other good free ones:

Audio Recorder - Basic voice recorder for LEO encounters or anything audio.

Barcode Scanner - Scans barcodes and droid barcodes & searches internet for products

Endomondo Sports Tracker - Uses GPS to track your movement in a car, canoe, running, etc. Great for hunting and anywhere you want to track your movement, miles traveled, etc.

MasterCard ATM Hunter - Does what it says

Scanner Radio - Lets you listen to police, fire, ems channels in your area or any area across the country.

SoundHound - Hit the button while a song is playing in your car, restaurant, etc. and it tells you the artist and song.

US Constitution - Copy of the Constitution

Ustream - Live broadcast to the internet from your phone....great to have if a LEO is threatening to take your phone for evidence. Saves video to the internet as you are recording.

Wheres My Droid - Locates your phone with GPS if it gets lost or stolen, capable of wiping all data on your phone if stolen, and if you lose your phone while it is on silent mode it turns the volume to max and rings.

I know there is a total and complete lack of such apps for the Blackberry! I like my BB, but their lack of apps is making it harder to stay with them and even harder to wanna buy a new one!

Loaded and tried Scanner Radio today. I drive a truck and REFUSE to use a CB...well there were a lot of idiots on the road today and quite a few backups coming back from Trashville TN. I got stuck in a jam for about an hour early on in the trip and wanted to take a nap so I gave scanner radio a shot at letting me know when we would start moving again. Works GREAT!
