Wait, the numbers on the frame and barrel, are they the last 2 or 3 digits of the number on the butt. I don't have any of my OP's with me at work or I'd look to see which is what.

The numbers on the frame & crane are 721,xxx the butt is 16,xxx:dunno:

Apparently OPs were only issued 6 digit serial numbers. The earlier shorter numbers went to Army Specials and New Army & Navy models. Says "OFFICIAL POLICE" on the barrel?

Edit to add: The inside of the crane is the serial.
