    Mmmm.
Maybe they should say something about it applying to 'skinnier' people.
But then the 'fat acceptance' people would have a heart attack.
Well, that just shows an ignorance of genetics. Height (jamil will love this) is expressed genetically on a continuum bounded by the extremes in your ancestry. Two short people can have a tall offspring (although not likely taller than the tallest ever of their recent forbears) as well as two tall individuals can have a short offspring (same)

    Reminds me of the joke....
What did Americans use for lighting before the candle?
    Lightbulbs!

    From the article.

"In Manheimer’s view, the partnership among self-interested businesses, grandstanding politicians and alarmist campaigners, “truly is an unholy alliance”."

Yes, it is. An alliance intent on creating a worldwide "company town" right out of the worst of 19th century America. My grandfather escaped from one of those in Kentucky in the late 1800's.

I am increasingly convinced that is the goal of those with and in power. Functional serfdom for all but a vanishing few. Sadly, most of the useful idiots enabling the transition simply don't understand they will not be among the few who are in and have power.

Exactly right. The Elite are already sitting on top. They have the power and the wealth, but it's not enough for them. They think they deserve more, even if they have to take it away from those who have much less. Nothing but completely selfish, self absorbed nihilists.

Al will want regulations on the sun next and the angry urchin can go scream at it.
Well we hit KP 8 there for a bit(getting into worries about northern grids, not US ones),but it did not last long. Back down to 6.8 currently. That was however just the first hit of the day. We have another inbound.
They need to pass a regulation called "No more Carrington events" or put up a sign. That should solve it(for the left anyway).

Why the laughing? At the left joke? Québec went dark in 1989 with a KP of just 8.4 Do you think they made radical changes to their grid,or do you think they largely ignored the issue? They mostly ignored it and the majority of Quebec's grid is still very old equipment, with modern computer controlled(worse for this type of event) routing.

Our grid has had no hardening except for Texas. Yep,they spent a ton of money to upgrade their grid(to bad they did not think of frost or snow and gas though). https://www.popularmechanics.com/military/research/a23196/texas-emp-defense/

I would wager Quebec power operations have been on alert for some time,as have northern US power operations.

Depending upon who one chooses to believe, the earth is 4 billion years or more old. Meaning earth has been around for (carl sagan voice) billions and billions of years. The climate-nazi's are using data from the last ~150 years. They, the climanatzi's, are using this 150 years of data to demonstrate a trend. Whether one is a tree-hugging greeny, or one is a greedy Once-ler, a hundred and fifty years among billions of years, does not a trend make. According to science, the earth has been flooded, frozen, on fire and flipped magnetic poles - all before mankind existed. I'm all for clean air and clean water. I've never met another person who wanted air and water to be dirty. But these 'man-made climate change' fanatics are like a cult. And they're lead by globe-trotting leaders with private plains, mega yachts, who live in houses that require $10k worth of electricity every month. Forgive me if I'm skeptical of their claims.
