I have three 4’ logs that are around 14” in diameter. My daughter wants me to cut 1-2” thick slices to be used as part of the centerpieces for her wedding.

I can’t seem to get a straight cut with my chainsaw to save my life. Any ideas?

If you can't sharpen the chain so that it cuts straight, you can make a jig for a router (if you have one) and use it to flatten them out. Plus they will look really nice.

New chain and new bar....after that it is user issue.

Also Amazon sells some wood miser jigs for chain saws that get pretty good reviews but I have no experience with them....for the price might be worth a try.

I did a similar project two years ago and knew my chain and bar were fine for cutting firewood but also knew they had a ton of hours and wear on them.

Before I started I just went out and got a new bar and chain so I knew I stood the best chance of success.:twocents:

Great work there Bob! The OP needs to post some pics of his work also.

Now that is pretty interesting. I was cutting round plates, but I could see doing some cool things with that

I like them jigs they make on them Alaska shows.....something like this for ripping logs. Never owned one and never used one....but they make it look easy.
