So I have decided to give someone their first AR for Christmas. What better way to learn than to assemble yourself?! :D I also want it to be a surprise (those of you who know who it's for, please keep quiet) and was trying to avoid having a rifle-sized present under the tree. I once heard that the AR was like a grown-up jigsaw puzzle. Perfect analogy.

I procured all the parts from Bushmaster and Magpul to assemble a complete rifle. I dumped said parts into a box...but not just ANY box.

    This box!!!!!! :

HUGE and immeasurable thanks to INGOer RobbyMaq for the artistry and production.

The question for the hive is:

Is this brilliant, creative or just plain mean? :p

    Wow! That's absolutely awesome!

I've gotta be honest though, it seems like a little much for the INGO Secret Santa, considering the $25 limit and all.

That's something I would do, so my wife would think it's mean. Of course, if I could keep the parts from rattling around, I would have used something like an Easy Bake Oven box or make it look like he was getting a box of underwear and socks. :D

My parents, to this day, buy me Legos for christmas. They have also started including my son in this tradition. Maybe I can ask them to broaden their definition of a 'lego'? Anyways, fine job with the gift, very well done.
