Well, it wasn't farmland. Nobody gets farmland for $430 an acre.
    It was undeveloped woodland....forest.
Still doesn't sit well with me. A foreigner buying a vacation home is one thing, but buying industrialized land (farm or otherwise) should come under severe scrutiny, especially a commie buyer.

Even that, undeveloped woodland goes for well above $430/acre...

I'd love to buy some at $430/acre and get some more distance from the neighbors...

Leadership in the US will sell anything to anybody with cash, right now the chinese have a lot of it. When you will own nothing and be happy, it will be because nothing will be for sale and you wouldn't be able to afford it if it was. The 15 minute city future of Winston Smith awaits.

Yep. Stop allowing yourself to be lulled into acceptance of this crap. When you hear your republican mayor or city council talking about a more walkable down town, bike paths, and measures to discourage traffic and driving, if you find yourself applauding it and encouraging them to go after that free money to make it happen, this is where you’re heading.

Easy solution. Tax the crap out of foreigners who own large tracts.

In the West these large agricultural or timber lands are generally not taxed on value, but rather on productivity. In Montana a $20,000,000 timber holding might have a property tax burden of only a couple of thousand dollars per year.

Tax (and regulate) them until they decide to GTFO.

I could easily see the chinese aristocracy living on the west coast of the US while the peasants toil in mainland china to further enrich them.

The communism of 12 century europe.

    **fixy** :):

That's why they send their pregnant wives and daughters to give birth in hospitals in La Placentia and Arcadia and Rancho Cucamonga. The children and grandchildren become natural born citizens, same as you and me. In the future, these Children of the Chinese (Capital) Aristocracy will be the managers of these investment tracts, eligible to vote and run for office.
The China Lobby of the future won't even contain anybody born in China.

America is for sale, and we did it to ourselves. Our birthright citizenship and generous Christian asylum/refugee policies set the stage, and our 1980s laissez-faire WSJ "Free Minds and Free Markets" and National Review "Free movement of capital" conservatism failed to erect any legal barriers to prevent this. As Donald Trump would no doubt point out to us, like he did to Hillary in that debate, we could have changed the laws, but we didn't. The Atlantic and Pacific oceans protected us long enough to see the dangers in other countries and take action, but we failed. We apparently thought those oceans would protect us forever.

The Chinese Aristocracy will run the left coast, the Northeastern patrician Brahmins will run the right, and many in the plantation state between will eventually work for them. And living in a "Red State" won't change it one bit. The Brahmins will be happy to let you ban abortion in your state and have a gun or three around while awaiting the rapture - as long as it doesn't ultimately impede the business operations of the Plantation.

In retrospect, the losses in the "culture wars" shouldn't be a surprise. Why would we effectively defend our culture, when we don't even effectively defend our land? We had a grand total of two (2) effectively deployable AF reserve F-16s protecting the whole East flank of America on the morning of 9/11. America is a massive, soft, undefended pot of capital. Anybody who understands its laws well enough can take it. George Soros figured it out. The Chinese Aristocracy figured it out. Hell, the refugees at the bottom of foreign societies have figured it out.

You see those internet and radio commercials urging you to add "physical Gold" to your investment portfolio, to hedge against the nebulous concept of "uncertainty." I wonder if there is a similar advertising campaign in China, urging investors to invest in "Physical America?" :lmfao:
