I think he was so glad not to get constitutional carry, they decided this was better than letting CC come back again next year.

    Dr. Madeira -

said something about "police" powers- is NOT in the Indiana Constitution. ( a quick search shows the word police does not appear in the IN Const.)

Was she thinking Illinois perhaps? (it is there.)

    I"ll try to do a summary -

I missed the first 15 minute an some / most of KellyinAvon's talk due to work stuff.

    1) HB 1214 got strip and replaced to make it a mashup of SB 33 (with house floor amend #3) and HB 1424 / SB 237 (but only part of these)

1 - Guy was from a church and was speaking largely off topic (like when he said we don't have a right to carry - oh boy) ....
2 - Older woman - very pro-2A, and Pro CCR1 as proposed. - solid testimony.
    3 - MDA lady - ... again - largely off topic ...
4 - Trevor Vance - Everytown - "THEY ARE NEUTRAL" - - - (what yeah you read that right - :dunno: ) call that a win for us.
5 - Chief Wiley - IN Assoc Chiefs of Police - Neutral - less $ / change of date (was noted this would be 2019; and to replace funding / prevent its loss).
    - - G.T. playing role of Mr Obtuse -- part 1.
6 - Sheriff Troyer - was at MSDouglas HS last week - playing up the emotional story- but ended up being mostly about training - but you could sense bias against lawful carry IMO.
    - - GT / Mr. O part 2
7 - Judy Howard - Good - fairly well done.
8 - Kelly in Avon - Crushed it - but I only heard part.
    9 - Dr Wakefield - MDA - oh boy ...
10 - Konnie Crouch - founder of Women Armed and Ready - Good Job
    11 - Martha W - crime victim; supported CCR - well done
    - - NOTE : GT / Mr. O - trying to get people to trip up on #'s 7, 9, 10. - part 1
11 - Dr Madeira - ... stay on topic Doc. - typical arguments from her / here.
    12 - Charlie - ISRPA - good / solid support -
    - - GT / Mr. O - trying to get people to trip up on #'s 12. - part 2.
    13 - Guy - Crushed it.
    - - GT tried to mess w/ Guy and was OWNED.
    14 - Chris Kopacki - NRA - solid
still - GT / Mr. O - trying to get people to get him to take blame for "not offering this bill" after Dylan Roof / Charleston Shooing 2 yrs ago.

comments - about what you'd expect - except for Smaltz at the end - who was ticked at being blamed for the process; and constantly chided at by GT for
"keeping control of the hearing" while letting GT ramble more than anyone; and letting the anti-side - get more off topic than ours....

He seemed (not un justly) miffed at the conclusion.

I'm guessing there was no vote then? What happens next?

They do not need to vote in a public committee hearing on this - they didn't even need to hold a public hearing or take public testimony.
Smaltz did this to placate the other side - he needed only to give 2 hrs notice not the 72 he did; nor did he need to publish the CCR before hand.

My guess is they will go -
Today - and get the date fixed (to July 1, 2019 for the fee removal) - and leave the rest the same.
Tomorrow - Then remove Pierce and Taylor when they refuse to sign it - they get removed for a more favorable member -
Wednesday - to get it signed
Thursday - vote on the floor of both houses.

    End session.

NOTE - THIS COULD BE TOTALLY WRONG.
