I may be slow but isn't verbal consent an implied requirement now?

Hmmmm..... Good question. However, I can't remember ever asking any female partners for sex. I guess that makes me a sex criminal. (And don't you dare assume that this implies I always ask male partners.) :):

Seems to me I've most often been the one pursued, but I sure don't recall agreeing to anything explicitly, although I've had some, um,... I think I'll shut up now; this isn't moving in a family friendly direction.

That's kind of what I was thinking. Legally speaking, it may create simpler means to prove a lack of consent in some circumstances, but substantively, I don't see a huge amount of difference.

Glad to see that the great state of CA is doing something to prevent rape... From now on all the rapist will have to do is force them to sign a piece of paper and they will be free to rape

Wouldn't verbal consent still be he said/she said? (Not that there's anything wrong with he said/he said or she said/she said since we are talking about Kalifornia)

In other news, the incidence of rape in California has dropped to zero, with signatures-under-duress skyrocketing!

Kalifornia: it's not rape, you signed a piece of paper.

Hey when I was in college this verbal consent BS didn't work. I once asked a girl if she just want to &*^% and she slapped me. All I was trying to do was get verbal consent. If this law passes I can see a lot of college kids having some fun with it.
