I applied for my C&R Check cleared 5-5-09 I recieved my license today 5-16-09. That is faster than I expected. for ATF

I have my paperwork. Now all I need to do is to fill it out and send it in. It'll sure save me a few bucks.

I dropped my forms off at the post office outdoor box on April 28, 2009 I was really surprized how fast it went

Why shouldn't I +1 the ATF they responded to my application really fast. I think they did an outstanding job for me so Yes +1 ATF

That was amazingly fast! I sent for the application paper work in Feb., heard nothing for four weeks so I sent for the paperwork again. 3 weeks later (7 weeks totla0 the application paper from my first request arrived, 24 hours later the paper work form the second request (made four weeks later) arrived. no rhyme of reason. It's been almost three weeks since I submitted the application itself--but my credit card's been charged.

I belong to another site for arms collectors (Surplusrifleforum.com • Index page), and the consensus there is that "you never know." One fellow had a mere 21 days from requesting the paper to having the C&R in his mail box--another fellow called after 7 weeks.

However, everyone has said if you call the BATF, they are polite and helpful and are very willing to find you app. and get it to you (assuming you've been approved.)

I have heard that BATF was moving that office and that is what caused the intermittent delays.
