    I was impressed by "On killing" and "On Combat" by Grossman. If you only read one, read "On Killing".

    I also recommend "Left of Bang" by Jason Riley and Patrick Van Horne.

    I am not sure where these would fit on your list, but I guess on the mental side of self defense.

    I just finished "Left of Bang" and it's very, very, good. It was recommended to me by a KY public school administrator who I went to school with. She has integrated it into their "active shooter" training program. As a non-psych major, I'm going to have to read it again to fully absorb, but I plan on taking the online follow-up after I have a more complete grasp of the basics.
