I hate to sound like a paranoid person, but previous president changes felt like a transition of power. This one feels like a hostile take over....

Towns under siege, businesses raided when operating under the law and no charges currently, a media backing wiring hard to shift the culture, removing guns from an iconic gun toting character, the rioting and threats of violence for not being part of the crowd, businesses changing their ways out of fear of damages, the removal of the police....feels likes it's building to something unpleasant.

If they remove the police and guns and crime shoots thought the roof as it always does it's just a few steps away from martial law.

You just forgot to mention politicizing judicial appointments, promising to pack SCOTUS; corrupting the electoral process, so that the results will be seen as illegitimate regardless of the outcome, promising to pad their margin of fraudulent victory by making P.R. and D.C. states, and using EO's to destroy the 2A so we can't fight about it.

I believe Trump could continue to have a future in politics and I know that many independent voters are what put him in office to begin with. There's no reason for him to rock that particular boat. Show and do the dog and pony peaceful transition of power bit, then go back to work.

This depends entirely on what he does in the next 4 years, beginning with accepting the loss of the election (be it by hook or crook) and moving on as all of the others before him did. If Trump loses independent voters, he (and maybe the party itself) are done forever. If the Dems pull off some giant amnesty in the next 4 years we're done regardless.

He won't run in 2024. He, at a minimum, the next 4 years is going have the GOP by the nuggets. He's going to be able to make a TON of legal money, as aspirants come to the palace to kiss the ring ang gain his blessing. Speaking totally neutral here, but he IMHO, will be much more powerful outside the WH rather than in. He's literally going to be giving the GOP marching orders for the forseeable future, and he'll create several clones of himself looking to fill the vaccum when he's gone.
