    My son is preparing a sailboat for gulf of Mexico long cruising. He wants to get his 1990s mossburg 500 treated to slow the inevitable corrosive effects- ceracoat, parkerizing, or something else? Need not be pretty.

    Hard Chrome would not be a bad option , though honestly Cerakote (the baked on one) would probably suffice and not be as costly
